In Valorant, scoped sensitivity is a multiplier applied on top of your hipfire sensitivity.
What is Valorant Scoped Sensitivity Calculator?
The Valorant scoped sensitivity multiplier controls how fast your view moves when aiming down sights with a scope. In Valorant this setting is a multiplier applied on top of your hipfire sensitivity. This calculator finds the correct multiplier so that your scoped view speed matches your hipfire feel using monitor distance matching, viewspeed scaling, or relative (same eDPI) matching.
How to use
- 1 Enter your mouse DPI and hipfire sensitivity in the top two fields.
- 2 Select the scope magnification level from the Scope FOV dropdown.
- 3 Choose a match type: Monitor distance is recommended for most players.
- 4 The required scoped sensitivity multiplier appears in the result box.
- 5 Enter this multiplier into your Valorant settings under Scoped Sensitivity Multiplier.
Formula
Example calculation
For a 1.5x scope (40 degree FOV) with hipfire FOV of 103 degrees using monitor distance: multiplier = tan(20 deg) / tan(51.5 deg) = 0.364 / 1.257 = approximately 0.290. Enter 0.290 as your scoped sensitivity multiplier in Valorant.
Frequently asked questions
What is monitor distance matching for scoped sensitivity?
Monitor distance matching scales your scoped sensitivity so that a given physical mouse movement moves the crosshair the same fraction of your screen width both hipfire and scoped. It is the most popular method among competitive players because it preserves consistent crosshair placement habits.
What is viewspeed matching?
Viewspeed matching (also called 0% scaling) sets the scoped sensitivity so that the angular velocity of your crosshair is the same scoped as hipfire. It results in a lower multiplier than monitor distance for the same scope and is preferred by some players who prioritize consistent tracking speed.
What does a scoped sensitivity multiplier of 1.0 mean?
A multiplier of 1.0 means your scoped sensitivity equals your hipfire sensitivity exactly. Because the zoomed FOV is narrower, this makes scoped movement feel faster relative to the screen. Most players find a multiplier below 1.0 more comfortable for precise scoped aim.
Which scope magnification should I select?
Select the scope you use most often. In Valorant, the Marshal and Operator have a 1.5x zoom (approximately 40 degree FOV), the Outlaw has a 2.5x zoom. The 1.5x option is the most commonly optimized by players who use sniper rifles.
Does this calculator work for all Valorant weapons?
Yes. Any scoped weapon in Valorant uses the scoped sensitivity multiplier setting in your options. This calculator provides the correct value for any zoom level you choose. The multiplier is a single global setting that applies to all scopes.
